"I give back because people’s journeys in life are important to me. When I hear a story or experience a personal moment that requires that we as human beings step up and move forward for the betterment of others, it really inspires me to act, especially when it moves the needle toward civility, kindness, equity, and justice."

"I struggled financially to get through school, with fellowships and scholarships, plus working. I’ve always been of a mind to try to give back what I got from the University, pay it forward a little bit. That’s why I’ve given over the years, thinking there may be other kids in my circumstance."
