SOAR: The Campaign for Student Success at UVM will raise $150 million to make a University of Vermont education more affordable, more vibrant, and more powerful.
A University of Vermont education provides students the opportunity to improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the lives of their communities. This is why UVM is deeply committed to empowering excellent students from all backgrounds to pursue their passions and prepare themselves to lead productive and consequential lives.
Because of this, we have launched the Student Opportunity, Access, and Recruitment (SOAR) campaign—a new $150 million fundraising campaign to increase support for undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships at UVM.
More than ever before, philanthropic support for undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships is key to fulfilling UVM's mission. This is why UVM’s leadership has identified scholarships as their highest fundraising priority.
No part of UVM's strategic vision—Amplifying Our Impact—can be achieved without a diverse, engaged body of outstanding students. Scholarship support is critical to building that student body and setting them on the road to lifelong success. But investing in scholarships and fellowships does much more than make students' UVM dreams come true.
UVM has distinctive research and teaching strengths in areas that align with the most pressing needs of our time: the urgent (and interdependent) need to support the health of our environment and our societies. Scholarship support helps UVM prepare the leaders of tomorrow—the thinkers, scientists, educators, engineers, healthcare providers, farmers, entrepreneurs, artists—who will guide our communities through the complex challenges of the years to come.
Furthermore, as a proud land grant institution, UVM is constantly working to serve and bring value to Vermont and Vermonters. Scholarship support makes UVM even more accessible to Vermont students today, and builds a pipeline of highly skilled graduates with a passion for this state and a hunger to tackle the issues it faces—everything from farm viability to complex environmental issues to business growth.
Your support for scholarships and fellowships has a powerful impact on students, on UVM, and on our society. Please explore these pages to learn more.
