The Barrett Summer Scholars Program
Prepared for The Barrett Foundation
The Barrett Summer Scholars program is a competitive 10-week program that provides prestigious awards to outstanding undergraduate engineering students in pursuit of research under the mentorship of a faculty member and their graduate student(s). Barrett Scholars are required to attend a series of workshops throughout the summer to help develop their research project title, abstract, project report, and final presentation, and submit a total of five bi-weekly progress reports to discuss the status of their research.
Program Objectives
Barrett Scholars will:
- Gain research expertise and knowledge from their mentors
- Acquire and practice presentation and reporting skills
- Gain a deeper understanding of research in relation to their major and its impact on the community
- Collaborate with a team of fellow Scholars to share peer feedback and advice.
